WHAT’S HAPPENING?

Lots of Opportunities

WEEKLY BIBLE STUDY

Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm we gather to study a book of the bible, typically from beginning to end, over the course of several weeks.  All levels of biblical knowledge are welcome.  We break at 8 pm.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL

We are always learning  at St. Paul's, taking every opportunity to expand our knowledge of God.  On Sunday mornings when Sunday School is in session, the adults meet in the parish hall to discuss a variety of topics relating to Christian faith and lifestyle. This is a discussion group with everyone participating as he or she desires; it is easy going and fun.

CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL

From September to May, Children's Sunday School is offered for all ages at 9:15 a.m. on Sundays.

MUSIC MINISTRY

Music is a key part of our worship at St. Paul’s. We are blessed to have the St. Paul's Choir, led by our Director of Music Ministries. The choir provides a wide array of beautiful music during the 10:30 service September - May. Music reading ability is not necessary, and our director welcomes everyone to make a joyful noise! Choir practice is on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. If you're interested in joining, please contact the office at admin@stpaulshanover.org.

YOGA

St. Paul's Yoga Class meets every Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm and Friday morning at 9:00 am in the Parish Hall.  All levels of  experience are welcome.  Cost is $5 per class.  Bring your mat and  a friend and join us for reflection and rejuvenation.

PASTORAL CARE

The Pastoral Care Ministry meets monthly to connect with our parish family by sending wedding anniversary and birthday cards to many of our St. Paul’s families. Remembrance cards, get well wishes & personal notes are sent to those of our parish family who once were active members of St. Paul’s are now unable to attend Sunday services and events.  Additionally, a group of our Lay Eucharistic visitors share the Holy Eucharist with parishioners by administering the Holy Communion in their home or nursing facility. Along with visits and phone calls Pastoral Care, with help from our parish family, is able to arrange transportation for those who may, with aid, be able to occasionally attend the Sunday service.  The Pastoral Care Ministry feels that God is with them and through them; it is His love they are sending and sharing.  Pastoral Care Ministry meets at 2:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall on the fourth Tuesday of the month.

ALTAR AND FLOWER GUILD

St. Anne’s Altar Guild is an active, but quiet ministry. Members prepare the Altar for all services, vest the church for Christmas and Easter and are responsible for the care of all altar linens, silver and brass. A team is assigned for each month. The Altar Guild raises money to purchase communion wine, wafers, candles, linens, hangings and other supplies for the Sacristy and for our Rector. One way the Altar Guild raises money is through flower memorials. A separate  Flower Guild provides fresh flowers arrangements each week to grace the altar and for other occasions as needed. The Altar Guild sponsors the annual workshop at which all church members have the opportunity to create Advent Centerpieces for their own use.  The Altar Guild always provides a cake for receptions after baptisms. Anyone is welcomed as a member of the Altar Guild or Flower Guild.

HOSPITALITY AND PARISH LIFE

St. Paul’s considers hospitality both to members and visitors a special ministry that is an integral part of Church life. Further refreshments, hosted by the families of St. Paul’s, are provided after both the early and later services. This is a way for our parishioners to get to know one other better and to welcome visitors.  Picnics are held twice during the summer months - the first to kick off the summer season, and the second at the start of our program year in late August. There are numerous other fellowship opportunities throughout the year.

OUTREACH

St. Paul’s highly values it’s Outreach efforts throughout the community.  We are a very busy Ministry using the tools and talents that God has provided in all of our programs.  Community Breakfast is held every second Saturday of the month. The Hanover Christian Firewood Ministry (HCFM) meets weekly to secure, cut and process wood to deliver to clients which is used for heating their homes in the Winter and cooking throughout the year.  Each week, our Backpack Ministry provides nutritious meals for local students to take home on weekends and our parishioners regularly donate to the Ashland Christian Emergency Services (ACES).  During the holidays we actively support the Hanover Christmas Mother and our own Christmas Box Program by adopting local families in need.  Our strong and dedicated group of volunteers continue to serve throughout the year led by a leadership team of trusted and respected members of the community. We stand ready to assist people and programs in need as it arises.  Contact the parish office if you are interested in joining one of these teams or need assistance.
