ACES
St. Paul's is a collection point for the Ashland Christian Emergency Services. We have two places at the Church to leave food, clothing or other requested items that are delivered to ACES once a week.
Partner Outreach Ministries
CROP Walk
On the first Saturday in October, members from St. Paul's walk around the town of Ashland to raise money for local and international outreach ministries.
Outreach
We have many ministries of mercy at St. Paul's, everyone is encouraged to join in love of neighbor.
Moments of Hope: St. Paul's hosts a hot breakfast provided by the "Moments of Hope Outreach" every Saturdays. Breakfast is served from 9-10 am. The "Moments of Hope" pantry is located just north of St. Paul's on Rte 301 (13400 Hanover Courthouse Rd).
Fish Feed All
Fish Feed All bags are brown paper bags with one to two days worth of non-perishable food that St. Paul's provides for people to take with them and pass out to people in need. Fish Feed All bags are on the Outreach Table near the doubles doors of the Parish Hall.
Caritas
For a weekend in October, St. Paul's partners with St. James the Less in Ashland to feed and house homeless men as part of the Caritas outreach ministry. Caritas partners with churches throughout the Richmond area to provide food and shelter to the homeless year round.
Hanover Christian Firewood Ministry : The HCFM participates with neighboring churches to provide firewood to over 30 families in need each winter throughout eastern Hanover County. We are a 501 c (3) charity. Our volunteers ranging from 3 to 93 collect, process, and deliver some 80 to 100 cords of firewood each year. Our ministry also assists with outreach efforts throughout the year as well as providing Christmas boxes to our families. We host a Fall Picnic and a St. Patrick’s Day Dinner and would love for you to join us. If you are interested in joining this ministry, please contact Patti at pmdrudge@hotmail.com.
School Supply Drive
In late July and early August, the congregation collects school supplies to fill backpacks for kids in the YMCA "Back to School" program. In 2018, most everything on the list for three backpacks was gone in three days, Way to Go St. Paul's!
Chritmas Mother
Before the Christmas Season each year, St. Paul's receives a list of Christmas gifts for children and their families in Hanover County who may not get anything else for Christmas that year. The congregation buys the gifts along with some food for holiday dinners and distributes them to the families.
Back Pack Ministry
The Backpack Ministry is a joint ministry between St. Paul’s and Hillcrest Baptist churches. It provides food during the school year to children in Hanover schools (in our immediate area) who need meals over the weekends. We service seven schools, from elementary through high, with numbers of students varying each year. The schools determine which students receive the food based on need. The entire ministry, from collection to distribution of the food, is done by volunteers from these two churches. Thanks to all the help, love and support of parishioners, we continue to grow yearly!
