St. Paul’s Caritas Dates
Friday, June 28 – Saturday, June 29

For one week each year, St. James the Less provides a host site for CARITAS (Congregations Around Richmond Involved to Assure Shelter). St. Paul’s participates and supports this event by providing dinner, breakfast and to-go lunches. This year our dates are the evening of June 28 and the morning of June 29. We are seeking volunteers to donate lasagnas, salads, bread and breakfast items. There is also a need for servers, kitchen helpers, a clean-up crew and two male volunteers that will sleep over.

CARITAS serves as the first line of community support for anyone in need of emergency shelter. Over 185 participating congregations provide shelter, food, and necessities on a weekly basis to individuals and families in need of immediate assistance. Want to know more about Caritas? Come enjoy an evening of wine, cheese, art and fellowship.

Exhibitors include: Garnett Cross, Bev Hobson, Danny Hobson, Janet Kencitzski, Marte Redd and Mae Taylor. We have a number of students who are not members of St. Paul’s as well. It promises to be an interesting show.

On April 27, 2013 a group from St. Paul’s participated in a canned food drive as part of Global Youth Services Day. Canned goods collected helped bolster supplies for local food banks.

The Outreach committee would like to thank all those who purchased beautifully crafted items from the African Team Ministry sale.  This sale spanned two Sundays and brought in $720.00!  This money will go directly to support the Bishops that provide school fees, tuition, books, and uniforms. This support ensures that the children receive an education and a measure of stability needed to rebuild their minds. African Team Ministry currently has children registered for sponsorship in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda.  A special thanks to Millie Young, Lynn Reeves and Sandra Heins for assisting in the set-up and sale.

Your print will be brought to the church within the next two Sundays.

This beautiful image may be purchased, with proceeds going to support our high schoolers’ upcoming mission trip.

On Sunday, May 8, 2011, St Paul’s Episcopal Church, Hanover County had a lot going on. The senior high schoolers held a plant sale to raise funds for their upcoming mission trip and the elementary schoolers made a pizza lunch to celebrate Mother’s Day. What started out as an overcast, dreary day turned into a delightful afternoon.
